About
My curiosity for intercultural learning began with a public relations internship in London during my sophomore year at the University of Iowa. This formative experience ignited a passion for global engagement, leading me to become a global mentor and study abroad at Bond University in Australia. My connection to Australian culture inspired a move to Sydney after completing my Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management, where I furthered my understanding of intercultural adaptation and cross-cultural communication.
Upon moving to California, I spent several years deepening my expertise in business strategy and communications. In my role as a Senior Account Manager at a news agency, I managed high-stakes accounts while implementing HubSpot to improve workflows and client communications. This experience enhanced my change management skills, allowing me to drive operational efficiencies and elevate client relationships.
My entrepreneurial spirit then propelled me to launch Intent, a business specializing in fair trade and organic cotton reusable bags. From growth strategy and marketing to partnership management and team development, I oversaw every aspect of the business, fostering values of sustainability and social responsibility. The strategic and ethical insights I gained at Intent were invaluable, deepening my appreciation for the role of partnerships in meaningful business outcomes.
This path then led me to co-found Current Creators, a community market that unites local small businesses, artists, and musicians, donating a portion of sales to a local non-profit. As a founder, I experienced the power of community-building firsthand and understood how local partnerships can drive social impact.
Upon earning my Master of Arts in International Education Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, this led me to my current position at UC San Diego. This role is driven by a commitment to partnership, strategic growth, and cultural understanding.
